A Friday the 13th message to the haters

To all the Luka-haters
(and now Lexa-haters):

As you may have noticed, my blog comments are now being moderated. I was ok with the occasional message of disapproval or reprimand, in fact I expected it. I even enjoyed the commenters who kindly took the time to present their opposing point of view or express their concern over my obsession. But this latest onslaught is completely unacceptable.

People who express dismay at my compassion for a fellow human being (who happens to be accused of murder), and then turn around and wish death upon me are the true psychopaths. Do you not see the irony in you calling me the sick one when you are the ones filled with dark thoughts and I with warmth and empathy? I feel sorry for your sad lives so full of negativity, how unhappy you must be! I’m well aware that many of you are the same individuals who have been attacking Luka for years, beginning with ridiculing his views on Family Guy. Do you people not realize you are exactly the cause of pushing Luka over the edge?!?!? It’s people like you, full of vile hatred, who are the cause of everything so wrong with today’s society, not me, not Luka!

Take a long look in the mirror and figure out what it is you hate so much about yourselves that you feel the need to follow so closely a subject that you hate. Freedom of speech gives me the right to express my views, and you to express yours, but while we clearly disagree, the difference between you and I is that I am attacking no one, while you all are attempting to bully me into submitting to your demands. Well, guess what? I’m not taking it anymore, no more hateful comments will be published, and I’m NOT going to stop blogging on your account!

And just so you know, I’m the eternal optimist. The silver lining of this dark cloud is that I now have first hand experience with the hate that Luka experienced online which makes my empathy for him that much stronger. Thanks for that! :) So long haters! I hope u find some love, happiness & peace!

“and then turn around and wish death upon me are the true psychopaths.” that is exactly right Lexa. People can disagree with you, but there is no excuse for threats and that level of hate. People should have the maturity to disagree with intelligences and thought out responses. Not name calling and wishing harm.

  2. Wow this is the first time you’ve had this tone. I too am not surprised but maybe you’re also receiving a lot of private hate mail too. I definitely noticed how ironic it was when people would turn almost violent in their words, contradicting exactly what “good” they stand for.

Some of them are victims’ rights advocates (friends of His Royal Highness Stephen Harper) and actually call themselves “warriors” fighting for “justice”.

  3. Does this mean that critical analysis will be blocked? I am trying to understand your purpose and mission. I really hate to tell you this, but you are not helping Magnotta in any way, shape or form. Really, you are experiencing full-blown projection onto him, not empathy. What is this about, anyway? Who are you displaying this to, anyway?

    • OK Christina, I’ll bite. Explain how you see me projecting onto Luka. And what do you mean by who am I displaying this to?

      • You are projecting parts of your own self, wants and needs upon him. When you use the word ‘empathy’ about this individual, what exactly do you mean? Warm fuzzies? Who is your audience? Only sympathizers of this man? Are you feeling empathy about his actions? About his online murder video? To me(and it is only to me), he seems to be the ultimate e consumer. He seems to have based his actions upon violent films and people. Ice pick like ‘Basic Instinct’. He seems to disrupt everyone’s moral compass. I am trying to write a non sensational, serious and somewhat sympathetic article about this person. That means I cannot blind myself to him and his actions. He is lost, and he does not seem to want a map.

        • Yeah, I guess all of Luka’s supporters are projecting ourselves upon him in ways, but we also truly relate to things that have happened in his life. Warm fuzzies are not empathy, I’m not quite sure what the warm fuzzies are to be honest, because I know they don’t belong. But the empathy I feel for him has nothing to do with his actions, which are reprehensible, and more to do with everything he’s been through in his life and all the mental issues he’s had that pushed him to the unthinkable.

    • Christina Archer, you’re absolutely right. For example, when I see his Berlin mug shot, what I see is a cold, intense gaze that makes me feel intoxicated with desire for his violence on top of me.

But Eric Newman isn’t passionate like I am, I am just projecting! He is emotionally dead, a psychopath. Plus I believe he’s definitely homosexual so he wouldn’t even feel aroused by a woman.

Yet despite my realistic rationalisation of things and self-awareness, I still feel these overwhelming, intense feelings of attraction for his violence on top of me.

  4. You always post what i’m thinking! And I stand behind you m’lady! my avorite song and saying “Can’t nobody break my stride, nobodys gonna hold me down. Oh No! I got to keep I moving!”
    Love you Lexa <3

Hi Lexa !! I want to know what do you think about all the persecution (you can see it all over the web) that Luka suffered and its possible impact on what happened later. Luka’s name, his face, his life, was widely exposed to a kind of criminal harrasment by a lot of very well known people (you can find them in youtub, facebook, etc). The activists of RESCUE INK are just an example of this. They, in my opinion, might have some responsibility in what later happened. I have to say: I share your impression that Luka, to some extent, is a victim, even if I strongly condemn the final criminal act.

    • I absolutely condemn murder as well! But the more I read, the more I really do believe that the online harassment Luka suffered contributed significantly to his downward spiral! The trolls out for their lulz are destroying people’s lives, and are just as much to blame for Jun Lin’s death as Luka himself!

I agree, online harassment can go far, there was one case of suicide not so long ago. And i also used to be a victim of it, (especially on myspace).I’v been whoring any social network i could, so I know how it feels like. Often it would lead me in such a rage and pure hatred, I ended up with a little paranoia and picking fights IRL. Now I just find it funny, but I have to admit I was concern with you Lexa. But now I am glad to see you can handle it all. :)

i absolutely agree with you Lexa, also, great choice of picture for the occasion

  9. GO Lexa Go!

  10. yes! thanks Lexa for writing such honest words and feelings…i,too, find it ironic that so many people are calling us crazy and Luka is a psychopath, when they then turn around and threaten Luka’s supporters with harm and death threats. how horrible that is…

I don’t hate you. I do think that you are just as bonkers as he is though. Especially when you write that you are obsessed with Luka and that you are thinking of him constantly and crying for him. Yeah, he’s had a hard life but thinking of him constantly can’t be good for you or your family. Where do you draw the line? You should put more energy and effort into your own life and family than some guy in jail for dismembering his lover. Honestly some of the stuff that you have posted makes you seem as if you are losing your mind. The more that I read of him and see of him, I have come to realize that he is really nothing more than an attention whore. All of his pics are of him posing and wanting the full attention of an audience. Very self absorbed individual indeed. Even as he sits in jail, he is probably thinking of how he looks and worrying about not being adored. Lame ass!

Does any of you ever worked the streets?? that was his job for the past 10 years….. do you have an idea what he had to go through? you can analyse so much of his life and try to find answers but you wont have the right answers unless you been there…… live constantly in insecurity, you are on your own, you never know what to expect, people use you, drug you, make you do crazy things, no one is there for you NEVER, feaR, loneliness, rage…… self confidence is at its lowest level since everyone treats escorts like s**t once they had what they wanted….. its a total different world! dont forget that part, trust me it can affect your mind, your relations with people and your disconnection with people living a more “normal life” because they dont understand and they dont want to be affiliated…its a life where you are being put down all the time. You might like him and thats fine but you are not in his world…. you will bever be! But saying good things about him can only be great a great thing, like for his fame ;)

You’re all incorrect. I’ve known “Luka” for many years and it upsets me that anyone could start a blog like this when they have no real idea about this man.

I do hope you let me post.

  15. I mean this in the nicest possible way but why so much sympathy for a pretty over-publicized white boy? There are many people out there who could use the support. Many of them are black or Hispanic prisoners who will serve longer sentences than white people simply because of their coloring. I understand that you feel sympathy for Luka due to his vulnerability but what about kids raised in the ghetto who started out without love and support. I am curious what it is about Luka in particular that makes him worthy of your tears but not them.
