Letters to Luka
Now that more information has been confirmed about writing to Luka, I thought it would be fitting to post some info for those interested in writing to him.

Tips for writing to Luka:
- He cannot receive photos. Don’t bother sending any, as he won’t receive them.
- He can receive cards. Find one that appeals to him to make your letter catch his eye. (He likes animal prints.)
- He cannot receive stamps or stamped envelopes, but if you want to help him pay for postage, you can send him a money order in his name.
- Include your return address on the outside of the envelope; otherwise, it may not pass screening.
- Don’t come across as a media person in anyway. Luka is very distrustful of the media!
- Don’t talk about the case.
- Be sincere and supportive.
- Compliment his appearance – The most important thing to him!
- Don’t include sexually explicit material or swear words…it will just get blacked out.
- Tell him how often you plan to write and hold yourself to it. These penpal relationships are all he has right now.
- Tell him about yourself so he knows who is writing to him. While I’m sure he loves to hear how great he is, he needs a frame reference so you’ll be memorable to him.
- Try to relate to him. Mention mutual interests and life experiences.
- Tell him little things you’ve done for him, or because of him.
- Remember he is a real person, not just a fantasy. Don’t talk like you know him just because you have a fantasy of him in your mind.
- Don’t expect a reply. He gets many letters and can’t reply to them all, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t appreciate your support.

I’m fourteen years old,and personally I’d say I’m quite mature for my age :} anyway,I’ve decided to write Luka a letter to show my support,and I don’t understand about the postage? D: I was wondering if you could help me out..
He can not receive stamps. He needs money to buy stamps, so it would be best to send him an Canadian/ International Money Order. Maybe that will be a problem considering your age. You just can try to explain to him and hope he understands and takes the money from himself. But he seems to get lots of letters, so it could very well be you won’ t receive a reply.

Je ne ressens pas de haine envers Luka Magnotta mais je me dis que ses problèmes ne doivent pas justifier son acte épouvantable, j’imagine que l’on fasse la même chose à mon fils cela est juste horrible!Enfin je pense qu’il n’est pas stable psychologiquement, d’ailleurs lors de la descente de l’avion j’ai pu voir un regard vide, limite il ne fesait pas parti de ce monde ou complétement déconnecté de la réalité, c’est triste pour lui et Surtout pour la Famille de Lin, sa vie paraissait tellement irréelle , elle n’était fondée que sur le mensonge, qu’est ce qu’il l’a vraiment ammené à pratiquer cet acte ignoble?Qui est le Vrai Luka?à quoi il pense en Prison?se Rend il compte de son acte?Pourquoi faire parti d’une secte qui prône la superiorité de la race blanche?Je me rend compte qu’il a voulu se crée une vie car il est connu que chez ces personnes il y a un Grand manque de Personnalité!Que Dieu apporte la paix dans ce monde Nabila de FRANCE
Does anyone know, if you get a reply from Luka, will the envelope show where the letter has come from? I don’t live on my own and my mail gets seen before I see it. I don’t want to have to explain it. Also I don’t live in Canada so makes it more awkward…
Another thing is I think you have to be careful not to befriend someone unless you are prepared to be loyal whatever happens.
Totally agree to your last sentence. You should try to find out as much as you can about him and act accordingly. People shouldn’ t run around calling him his/her friend or lover and then turn away after 2 months… I don’ t know personally, but I have heard the letters by him shall include no sender address, so nobody should see where the letter comes from. Except of course the fact that the letter comes from Canada already reveals something to the others in your living place. Another possibility, if you are old enough, would be the creation of a post office box and to tell him to send the responses there.
Hi Lyra, Just wanted to add something about the letters. I haven’t actually seen any of the envelopes but I did run across one fan on Facebook who was very upset because when her letter came it was marked “Riviere des Prairies Detention Center” and she says her father confiscated it. I haven’t received an answer to my letter yet so I can’t confirm what’s on the envelope but it only makes sense to me that the letter would have a return address. I am hoping someone trustworthy like Lexa can give you a better answer. I like Markus’ idea above of a PO box, if you can afford it. That way you won’t have any problems.
I’ll try to find out exactly what’s on the envelope for you. Someone very close to me has already received letters and I’ll ask her.
Will he be able to write back even if it’s before his trial? A few of us are unsure about this. I’ve been waiting ages to send my letter!
He is able to write back, a few reliable people have already received letters by him. Do not contain anything about the crime itself in your letter.
Who are these reliable people? Do you have links to their posts or whatever? Also, when writing to inmates, don’t we require their prison# or something?
You don’ t need a prison number. Just write to the address mentioned here. I cannot give you links to their posts because they prefer to stay anonymous due to the overwhelming hate, as you can certainly understand. If you like to write Luka, just do it and keep on doing it. He gets a lot of letters, so no guarantee for a reply. Just keep on trying. But there’ s a high chance he will read it at least.
is there really confirmed responses from Luka? how was it confirmed?
Yes there are replys. It was confirmed by some reliable people. Of course I will not tell you any names, because you know how many Luka-haters are out there. You just have to believe it, it’ s true.
I’ll believe it when I see it for myself , although I highly doubt he will ever respond to my letter.
Even if he doesn’ t respond to your first letter, you have to keep on trying. Of course, if you write some negative stuff, he probably won’ t respond. You just have to send a nice letter now and then, if you really care and then he will recognize that sooner or later, I suppose. Good luck!
Why would I bother writing just to be negative? I offered my support and friendship and attempted to start a conversation about music and movies and other common interest subjects . Your right though; I will send another letter some time , maybe he will reply .

He can not receive emails. Best thing is you handwrite him, a traditional letter. Because he gets very much mail as it seems, there is no guarantee for a reply. But he will read it most likely I think.

Well, since you must provide your return address on the envelope in order for the letter to get through that means an alleged murderer has your address…but on the other hand he is locked up and likely to remain locked up for the rest of his life. It’s really your own decision to weigh.

Some people have supposedly received return letters from Luka Magnotta, yet I cannot find any shared letters anywhere on the net, nor can I find any examples of ANYTHING he has said in any letter! I am starting to believe that no one ACTUALLY HAS RECEIVED ONE! its bothering me for some unknown reason! Can anyone help me here?
If you know where to look there are indeed copies of letters from Luka floating around out there.

Firstly… 1nicecanadiangirl1hugeobsession… Luka is not an ALLEGED murderer he IS in FACT a cannibal/necropheliac murderer who deserves nothing but suffering 1000x the pain and suffering he has caused since he has been breathing and existing on this planet. FOR THE REST OF YOU SUPPORTERS of Luka Magnotta…. Likewise to him, you are all a waste of space on this planet, it is because of ignorant scum like yourselves that still today we cannot prevent innocent people from suffering for absolutely no reason. No one deserves to die the way this poor victim did, and the eternal suffering that has been introduced into the lives of his family is just disgusting…Go ahead, laugh, praise, love, embrace a dispicable THING that is Luka Magnotta all you want… because just like him, you guys think you are free from the worse unimaginable suffering, but no one escapes it… The universe is an intelligence you can never comprehend, and IT WILL PUNISH YOU at LARGE… and I am confident that all of you along with Luka will definitely suffer the consequences, even if it doesnt hit you in this physical present lifetime.. so laugh at the suffering of humanity, I am certain you will all end up far worse than what happened to this victim.. and well deserved.
I say ‘alleged’ because he has not been tried and convicted YET! I am quite certain though that he will indeed be found guilty. I never chose to have empathy for Luka and knew all along it was strange and not right…if you read my final blog post you will see i saw the light.
